Where jewellery meets object,text and cartoon.
In my work I use narrative graphics and statements through text.
Just like a cartoon,my jewellery works with the first sight,first impact principle,then leaving space for further investigation and imagination.
Based on archetypes and every day thoughts,I make marriages of often seemingly contradictionary materials and techniques.
By using found objects or materials,that are not exactly familiar with jewellery ( for example the top of a painting tube,flattened by cars) I put them into a new context.
The word “integratie”taken apart into “in te gratie”,enters a new life on a ring.
To evoke the feeling of what is jewellery in my objects,and to lovingly mix up,that is what I do.
My aim is to research further into the translation of drawings and cartoons into jewellery,experimenting with techniques such as laser and silk screen print on metal,but also exploring traditional techniques such as etching.
To further the feeling of jewellery in different techniques and media.
To investigate and broaden the aspect of wearability in objects and to further professionalize myself to work on series,that can be exhibited.

Making jewellery is one of the things,that makes me sit still for longer than 10 minutes.It s meditation,it s fun and it satisfies my need for creating mild chaos and excited order.Everyday,I take in an enourmous mischmasch of everything around me-visually,verbally,dreams,lies,looks,scandals and secrets.

Sometimes it grows organically,I go pregnant with 1 idea for 9 months.
Sometimes I start the 123rd unfinished piece and it stays unfinished,sometimes it gets legs of its own and walks off as a stranger.
There is only one thing for sure in the end-it s a piece of jewellery,whatever the definition of jewellery might be.
